                        James Bannister Scholarship

 

 Fox Valley AGC:

Fox Valley Associated General Contractors (FVAGC), organized in 1952, is a not for profit construction association dedicated to promoting quality union craftsmanship throughout the Fox Valley area. FVAGC became a chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) in 1957.  AGC of America is the oldest and largest construction association in the United States.

 

Fox Valley AGC is an organization of General Contractor Members, Associate Members and Sustaining Members.  All members of the association include individual or firms in associated industries identified with construction that have a material interest in the welfare of the industry.

 

James Bannister Scholarship:

The tuition assistance program is named in honor of James Bannister, a former Executive Director of Fox Valley AGC and founder and Chairman of Fox Valley Construction Industry Advancement Program, prior to retiring in 1978.  Students enrolled and or accepted in a 2 or 4 year college/university pursuing a course of studies leading to a degree in building construction, construction management or civil engineering will be eligible to receive a $1,000 per year, up to a maximum of $4,000 total scholarship.  This scholarship is for construction degree courses not general education classes.

 

Additional scholarship information can be obtained by contacting the Fox Valley AGC office (630) 443-0055. The application must be received in the FVAGC Office on or before December 15, 2011. The recipient of the scholarship will be notified by the FVAGC Executive Director and encouraged to attend the FVAGC Annual Meeting 2012.
