AGC Aetna Insurance Exchange Launch Release

"The AGC Alternative," the first of its kind, nation-wide private insurance exchange to serve the commercial construction industry, begins offering firms belonging to the Associated General Contractors of America quotes today, association officials announced.  The private exchange, developed in collaboration with Willis North America, a unit of Willis Group Holdings, the global risk advisor, insurance and reinsurance broker, features comprehensive insurance coverage from Aetna, MetLife and Group Vision Service as part of its introductory suite of benefits.  MetLife will offer dental, life, disability and legal service coverage while Group Vision Service will offer vision coverage.  Willis of Maryland, Inc., a licensed insurance producer, will act as broker of record for all insurance products offered on the new AGC private exchange.

Teamsters Locals 179, 330 & 673 Wage Package Allocations

After a meeting today with the locals to resolve discrepancies, the following is the allocation of the $1.62 wage package increase for Teamsters Locals 179, 330 & 673 effective June 1, 2014:

Wages                    $0.49

Health & Welfare      $0.38

Pension*                 $0.75


*Pension now includes Miscellaneous Supplemental Pension Fund and Rehab Plan


Teamsters Joint Council 25 Agreement

Memorandum from MARBA: On July 11, 2014, we advised that implementation of the terms of the new agreement with Teamsters Joint Council 25 and Locals 179, 301, 330, 673, 705, 731, and 786 should be delayed pending the written agreement of Local 705 to be bound, which was a condition of the Tentative Agreement ratified by the parties.

Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters Wage Package Allocations

Further to our memorandum dated May 28, 2014, the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters ratified the Memorandum of Understanding on June 7, 2014.  Therefore, the wage increase of $0.83 per hour in each of the four agreements is effective June 1, 2014.

With respect to the proposed allocations of $1.00 to an Annuity Fund under the Fox Valley and Grundy County agreements, that issue is still under legal review.  We will keep you apprised of further developments.
